The Prince first appeared in 1989 in the Prince of Persia game. Not much was known about this hero back then other than he was a foreign adventurer with incredible free running capabilities. The Prince is a very skilled fighter, a master with many different weapons including swords, axes, daggers and staffs. It is unknown where he learned these skills, however, the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time manual states that the Prince is a \'gifted\' swordsman and athlete.
