Final Fantasy XII was released in 2006, and was the first single player Final Fantasy title of the main series in five years. It is also the last numbered Final Fantasy game for the Sony PlayStation 2 video game console. Selling more than two million copies, it became the fourth best-selling PlayStation 2 game of 2006. The game takes place in the fictional world of Ivalice, where the empires of Archadia and Rozarria are waging an endless war.
