The star responsible for illuminating the nebula is unusually hot. Typically, the most massive stars have maximum temperatures of 90,000 degrees Fahrenheit (49,982 degrees Celsius; about 50,000 Kelvin). This star is 135,000 degrees Fahrenheit (74,982 degrees Celsius; about 75,000 Kelvin).
