Description: The side-story was broadcast in Japan between August 25, and November 18, 2003. It focuses almost entirely on the high school life of Sagara and Chidori, highlighted in the short story collections. The series was a departure from the serious tone set in the first anime adaptation, with its slapstick humor and comedy focus. It was also the first Full Metal Panic series to be produced by animation studio Kyoto Animation. There were 12 half-hour episodes created, but only 11 were broadcast on Japanese television. This was because of some events in the series mirroring events occurring in Japan prior to the airing of the series. The missing episode was included on DVD release, and the episode order was returned to its original order.The English version was also produced by ADV Films.
